Exciting Updates for our 2026 Season!

Throughout this long, dark, and fractious winter, I have been thinking about how we at Ten Barn Farm can do more to bring people together when so much in this country is pulling us apart.  Over the past four years, we have built a community of people who come for meals with the freshest possible ingredients, for the music, theatre, book discussions or just conversation with neighbors.  There is much goodwill in all of it, but the question I have been asking myself as I watched all the difficult news coming out of Minneapolis and other places is “can we be more intentional about offering people ways to connect, find common cause and discover shared values?”

EXCITING CHANGES…

With Peter and Julian taking over the day-to-day operations of The Kitchen, I am going to be focused on scheduling events and activities that further builds a community.  We will likely create a not-for-profit arm of Ten Barn Farm which will hopefully offer a range of activities including: programming for people with developmental disabilities, discussion forums, and a diverse range of arts programming.  There will also be volunteer opportunities for those looking to become more actively engaged with us around these programs.   More on all of this in a future newsletter.

The big news is on April 1st the Ghent Town Board approved Peter and Julian’s revised plan for The Kitchen.

Friday nights: This year we will be open Friday nights for dinner, often followed by an event in the performance barn. Happily, we are building a cool roof over the deck which will make us less weather-dependent!

Saturdays:  One or two Saturdays a month we will offer a range of community activities–the book club, breathwork or yoga classes, discussion forums, wine tastings or art classes.  You’ll be able sign up for the activity which will include a delicious farm to table meal.

Also on Saturdays, we will be focusing on hosting private events.  So think of us for your next dinner party, birthday, anniversary, graduation, shower, or a rehearsal dinners.

Sunday Brunch:  From day one Sunday brunch has always been our most popular and defining meal, and that will continue this season serving brunch from 9-2 every Sunday starting with Mother’s Day.
