Welcome to the farm — a place to slow down, breathe deeper, and celebrate the simple beauty of life.
About the farm…
At the heart of our work is a simple mission: to nourish our community with beautiful, delicious, sustainably grown food, and to celebrate the profound impact of small-scale organic farming on both the land and our local economy.
There really are ten old barns at Ten Barn Farm. The original farmhouse—built in 1790 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places—is available to stay in on Airbnb. The surrounding fields have been worked for over two centuries, and today our family farm continues that tradition by growing organic vegetables, herbs, and flowers—mostly by hand.
These crops support The Kitchen at Ten Barn Farm, our seasonal restaurant housed inside one of the coolest of the ten barns, as well as our farm-to-table dinners, wine and food pairings, and small-batch value-added products. Our free-range chickens offer a steady supply of farm-fresh eggs.
Ten Barn Farm sits on a 225-year-old historic property, once known as the Van Valkenberg–Isbister farm, nestled in the rolling countryside of Ghent, New York. Today, the farm is lovingly tended by owner Peter Harrington, who continues its legacy with intention, care, and deep respect for the land.
